LAUNCH program
Choice Theory with Jay Apicelli
Guest: Jay Apicelli. In this meeting the youth learned that their choices can can control the situation. Learning about the 7 deadly habits in a realationship as well as the 7 caring habits. Jay Apicelli creates a world of understanding your own emotional choices.
Crane Project
Guest: Dr. Kelly White. The Youth learned about "1000 cranes for world peace." Dr. Kelly White told the story of Sadako Sasaki and the Japanese legend of folding 1000 cranes for a wish. 1000 cranes for world peace became the Theme for the Festival of trees.
Chemical Awareness
Guest Sue Thistle. Sue usually speaks to the Launch Youth about the dangers of Binge drinking. After a conversation, she explained that the uprising in use is prescription drugs, especially the drug oxycontin. This meeting was filled with information of the dangers of what is in the medicine cabinet.
Business Competency Game (TRIVIA)
It's the end of Phase 1 (Personal Development) and entering Phase 2 (Business Skills Development). This trivia game is made as a review of what the Youth has learned in the first phase and an introduction into the second phase.
Just Hanging Out
The youth just hanging out before and during the meetings.
Trick or Treat on the common
This event was done in October for Halloween. The launch volunteers on the common with games (bowling for witches, ring toss) and fun community projects (pledge to be drug free banner, and pumpkin voting).
Festival of Trees
The Annual Festival of Trees at the Common Man is made up of local non-profit organizations decorating their personal tree. The CADY christmas tree was decorated by the LAUNCH with the Theme of "1000 cranes for world peace." The Youth folded 1000 cranes and decorated the tree on December 2, 2009.
Holiday Parade
The Launch Youth march proud in this great community event. They handed out candy canes to the local viewers.
NH Youth Summit
This opportunity was a weekend event sponsered by Breathe NH. The Launch youth traveled to Nashua, NH in November 2009, to partake in a state wide NH Youth Network Summit. They learned about advocacy, and leadership skills.
Holiday Celebration/Bowling at Funspot
Everyone's favorite past Time: bowling and pizza. The youth participated by showing off their individual bowling style...it was a lot of fun!
Monarch Hockey game
This event is always fun. The youth let their ROAR rip!
