Restorative Justice Coordinator (Part Time, Hourly)
Job Description:
Reporting to the Youth Services Director, the Restorative Justice Coordinator implements direct-service programming of the Restorative Juvenile Justice Diversion Program. Utilizing a strengths-based model, the Restorative Justice Coordinator supports youth by connecting them with tools, resources, new opportunities, pro-social relationships, and supports. These positive connections will help to develop accountability; real life skills; promote resilient, healthy behaviors; and reduce the probability of future offenses.
Specific Responsibilities:
Programmatic Implementation
- Coordinates implementation of Restorative Justice Juvenile Court Diversion Program.
- Screens and processes intakes from referring agencies: police, court, and/or schools.
- Implements Reparative Process with youth, victims, and families.
- Provides educational support on topics such as substance misuse, decision making, anger management, and life skills.
- Facilitates Restorative Justice Panel meetings.
- Ensures completion of Reparative Agreements.
- Provides guidance and supervises the work of Restorative Justice interns and volunteers.
Data Collection & Reporting
- Administers surveys for evaluation purposes.
- Responsible for monthly programmatic reporting to Executive Director.
- Timely submission of internal time and effort tracking sheets.
Community Outreach
- Recruits, screens, trains, and supports community volunteers to assist with the implementation and operation of the Restorative Justice Program.
- Establishes, fosters, and maintains friendly and cooperative relationships with the public, private sector, governmental agencies, and social service agencies.
- Develops and maintains partnerships with community leaders and organizations, keeping positive youth development principles at the forefront of collaborative efforts.
- Attends relevant discussion group/meetings related to youth issues, Restorative Justice, and services for youth and families.
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with multiple stakeholders.
- Completion of tracking and reporting to meet grantor requirements and evaluation measures.
- Implements project goals and guidelines under the direction of the Project Director.
- Submits monthly referral data to CADY data coordinator for program evaluation.
- Establishes and maintains confidential files and records.
- Participates in relevant taskforces, subcommittees, and trainings.
- Adheres to all policies, procedures and directives set forth by CADY.
- Assumes all duties as appropriate to this position and maintains a collaborative mindset to support miscellaneous tasks as needed.
Preparation, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of and commitment to principles, methodology and practices related to Strengths-Based Programming; Positive Youth Development principles; and Alternative Sentencing.
- Ability to manage and direct volunteers.
- Working knowledge of computer, Internet, and software applications to include word processing and Excel spreadsheets and office equipment.
- Ability to interact positively with a variety of people and personalities.
Education & Experience:
- Duties require a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Education or Social Work or related field and three years experience in law enforcement, probation, education, social work or equivalent experience and education. Master’s degree preferred.
- Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) credentialing highly desirable.

Youth Empowerment Mentor (Part Time, Hourly)
Job Description:
Reporting to the Youth Services Director, the Youth Mentor position supports the delivery of youth programming while nurturing healthy relationships with youth, teen leadership, and young adults.
Specific Responsibilities:
Program Implementation
- Assists with the programming needs of youth referred for juvenile diversion:
- Nurtures a one-on-one mentoring relationship with enrolled youth while developing a comprehensive, individualized goals-based mentoring plan for each youth inclusive of screenings and referrals for community service and youth empowerment activities.
- Coordinates community service projects and supports youth in the successful completion of community service hours.
- Facilitates community connections: natural helpers/trusted adults; prosocial activities.
- Coaches youth in stress reduction strategies and mindfulness.
- Supports the Youth Services Director and Health Educator, in the implementation of the following youth leadership programs to encourage substance misuse prevention advocacy and healthy decision making:
- Youth Advisory & Advocacy Council (YAAC)
- Junior Action Club (JAC)
- Youth Empowerment Programming
- Launch / MindUp Program
- Summer Youth Programming
- Co-facilitates Prime for Life Programming for Young Adults on a bi-monthly basis.
Community Engagement
- Works closely with the CADY prevention team, volunteers, Newfound Drug Response Task Force, and other key community stakeholders to advance community education and outreach initiatives to strategically address the complex nature of substance misuse.
- Develops and maintains partnerships with community leaders and organizations, keeping positive youth development principles at the forefront of collaborative efforts.
- Provides support in ongoing engagement of Plymouth State University community.
Data & Reporting
- Prepares monthly program tracking and reporting with the CADY data coordinator.
- Collaborates on gathering pertinent data to support grant reporting requirements.
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
- Establishes and maintains organized filing system and records.
- When schools are not in session, provides support to administrative projects including fundraising events.
- Promotes the drug-free mission of CADY with the community-at-large in all modes of communication.
- Pre-planned evening and weekend hours are required to meet youth programming needs.
- Adheres to all policies, procedures and directives set forth by CADY.
- Assumes all duties as appropriate to this position and maintains a collaborative mindset to support miscellaneous tasks as needed.
Preparation, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of public health and positive youth development principles and practices.
- Requires advanced ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Must have the ability to relate to, and work with, children, adolescents, and adults, while setting healthy boundaries.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Group facilitation skills with the ability to manage and direct youth, as well as adults.
- Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
- Requires working knowledge of personal computers and software applications to include word processing and PowerPoint.
- Requires ability to interact positively with both internal and external partners.
- Willingness to attend trainings to strengthen knowledge base.
Education & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in public health, education, social work, communications or related field and two years of experience in a health-related field. Bachelor’s degree required.
- Prime for Life certification; or willingness to pursue upon hire.
