It’s no secret that it is a hard time to be a kid. Between the mental health crisis and the rise in substance misuse, the “precious years” of childhood are under a lot of pressure right now.
At CADY, we believe every child in our community deserves a future they can actually look forward to.
I often think about what it takes for a child to truly thrive. It isn’t just luck; it’s a web of support. Right now, for many kids in Central New Hampshire, that web has some pretty big holes in it. And we’re trying to catch them before they fall through those holes.
We’re seeing more kids struggling with isolation and substance use than ever before. At CADY, we refuse to accept this as the “new normal.” We’re working every day to be the trusted adults these kids need—expanding our reach and deepening our programs to build the kind of resilience that lasts a lifetime.
